Toll-Free Numbers

Toll-free calls are toll-free because the owner of the number is paying for the calls, rather than the call originator. Tolls are collected where numbers pass through Networks and are based on the originating NPA-NXX.

Therefore the following rules apply:

  1. Toll-free numbers on SkySwitch can only originate calls from the US, Canada, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico only.
  2. Toll-free calls using a Toll-free outbound number will likely not work but may work in some cases. It will usually NOT work because the rating of the call cannot be done based on the NPA-NXX. We do not support TF to TF calling. You will need to change your outbound number to work in these situations.
  3. Some toll-free providers may reject calls from certain areas, they may predefine localities from where they accept calls. This could be by NPA-NXX, City, State, or Country.
We do not currently offer international toll-free numbers but we do offer International DID's in selected countries.  International DID's may solve your customer's in-country local calling problem.

Obtaining New Toll-Free Numbers

To obtain a new toll-free number, follow these steps:

  1. Search for an available number at http://800forall.com

Note: There is no guarantee that the numbers available at the 800forall website will also be available with our carrier. This is why a Telephone Number Request is needed for the LNP Team to check and validate with our carrier. Additionally, True800 numbers (800) found on the said site are exclusive to them and can't be obtained through purchase with our carrier.

To avoid losing the toll-free number, you may purchase it directly from 800forall.com at the prevailing market rate and port it over to Skyswitch. Please note that the purchase fee will be shouldered by the Partner.

  2. When you find a suitable number that is available, submit a Telephone number Request thru your reseller dashmanager.
  3. Go to Phone Numbers located in the dropdown menu under Telco.
  4. Click on Order Phone Numbers on the left side menu.
  5. Select Local DID/TF. (See the article Purchasing Phone Numbers for more info)
  6. Enter the required fields and submit the request.
  7. The porting team will keep you updated with the status of your order through the ticketing system.
  8. When the number is provisioned in the system, this will be added to your account and you'll be notified through the ticket.
