Concept

If you use SkySwitch for your PSTN origination and termination, then your account is controlled by the SkySwitch Managed Telco prepaid platform. This means that all call charges are deducted from your prepaid balance in real-time and that you are responsible for maintaining a credit balance on your account.

IMPORTANT: An active credit card must be on file in your SkySwitch BillCenter account. For instructions on how to add, change or delete a credit card, please review 'Managing Credit Cards on File with SkySwitch for Payments'.

The SkySwitch system will send you email alerts and notifications from two email addresses:

  • billcenter@skyswitch.com
  • donotreply@switch-alert.com

Emails will be sent to the email contact addresses that are configured in SkySwitch's billing platform during your initial reseller account creation. Please ensure that these email addresses are not blocked by your spam filter.

Info: To add or change emails used for billing, payment and balance notification messages, click Email Notifications Update. This can only be done by a SkySwitch billing staff member.

Telco prepaid balance SMS alerts are available for when your prepaid balance reaches a specified limit. To enable this alert, you must have at least one SMS capable phone number on-file in SkySwitch's billing platform. If you would like to use this feature, please provide one or more mobile phone numbers by email: Add SMS Mobile Phone Number. View SMS Alerts for Prepaid Telco Services for more information.

NOTE: If you have at least one SMS enabled number on file with the Billing department we will automatically text you a 'Critical Balance' notice onetime when your prepaid balance goes below $4.50. Its highly recommended not to rely upon this single notice as your only prepaid low balance warning.

Account Balance and Summary

Your Telco Services account can be accessed from the Manage Telco (see annotation 1 in the image below) link in the Reseller Dashboard. If you are not able to access this system, please contact the SkySwitch Control Tower for assistance.

Your current prepaid balance is indicated at the top of the main menu (see annotation 2 in the image below)

Balance Notifications Alerts & Adding Funds

To create 'Balance Notifications Alerts' and or 'Add Funds', click on the ‘Add Funds’ link (see annotation 3 in the image below).

Managing Balance Notification Alerts

To receive balance alert notification, click the Add Funds link and enter trigger amount into the field labelled "Threshold". Then click the "Create Alert" button.

Note: If you are using 'Auto Recharge' (described below) we highly recommend adding an alert above and below your recharge threshold. This allows you to monitor your mail for a low balance alert prior to your auto recharge.

When your prepaid balance decreases below the trigger (Threshold) amount that you set, you will receive an email notification.

Info: To add or change SMS or emails for balance notification messages, click Email Notifications Update. This can only be done by a SkySwitch billing staff member.
NOTE: If you have at least one SMS enabled number on file with the Billing department we will automatically text you a 'Critical Balance' notice onetime when your prepaid balance goes below $4.50. Its highly recommended not to rely upon this single notice as your only prepaid low balance warning.

Recharge Confirmation

After each account recharge, you will receive 2 emails.

1) One email will arrive from donotreply@switch-alert.com, this will be your indication that the prepaid balance on the switch has been adjusted. This email will also contain the prepaid balance on your account at the time that the recharge was performed.

2) Another email will arrive from billcenter@skyswitch.com, this will be your indication that the recharge amount has been posted to your SkySwitch account for payment tracking purposes.

FAQ: Why does my online banking transaction show an authorization or charge pending for a higher amount than my actual recharge credit? - For non tax exempt reseller accounts, this is due to our system pre-authorizing 140% of your recharge amount for the collection of estimated taxes. Once we receive pre-authorized funding approval, we process the original requested recharge amount thru our billing system to receive the actual tax to be charged. The total amount is the final or total charge amount. The pre-authorization amount is changed or updated then to the actual amount. This can take one to two business days in some cases.
