When adding a medium or large customer (5 or more seats) to the SkySwitch Platform, there are Bulk Import Tools to make adding the users quick and easy up to 40 users in a spreadsheet at once !

When Bulk Importing a customer you MUST import the users prior to importing the devices!

We highly recommend against exporting and re-importing your users to make changes. Doing so will remove answering rules and can cause issues.

Step-by-step guide to Bulk Import Users

  1. Add Domain - In order to Bulk Import Users you need to do so in an existing domain.
  2. Navigate to the Domain in which you want to Bulk Import Users.
  3. Click on the "Users" tab
  4. Click on the "Import" button

  5. Upon clicking the 'Import" button the system will display an Import Users pop up. Click on the "Download Template" button, see below.

  6. When you click "Download Template" the system will download a CSV file to your computer. This file is the template you will need to complete in order to then import your users into the domain. Open the CSV File. The CSV File will open with 21 columns. We will describe each of the columns below:
When you plan on importing users and devices, please make sure to put yes under "add phone extension". Import devices through the Phone Inventory (Hardware) will not automatically create the devices for you.

Bulk User Import Template Columns Descriptions -

  • Extension - An extension is required for every user in a domain. In the template assign an extension number to each of the users you want to import into the domain.
  • Domain - Add the domain name as it appears exactly in the SkySwitch Platform.  The format is customer.resellerid.service (TelogixPrimary.20083.service). Note: The Domain Name is Case Sensitive.

  • Login - The login name in the template is the username that your customer will enter to access the PBX portal. We strongly suggest that you should edit the default value contained in the downloaded template to remove the domain suffix.

IMPORTANT - The login name in the downloaded template has the following format extension@CustomerFullDomain. It is important that you change this to the format extension@companyname.

    • Columns for Line 1 through 8 - Enter in the extension number that you want to appear on each of the lines. Typically you will have the user's extension number on Line 1 no extensions on the rest. Just leave empty if no extension number is desired on that line.
    • Overrides - You can enter Device Level Overrides in this column. If you have questions on Overrides please refer to this doc, SkySwitch Provisioning Server (NDP).
    • Notes - Add in any notes you would like to appear on the particular device.
  5. Once you have filled out the CSV File completely, then you will Navigate back to Device Import (Mouse over Configurations and then Import/Export, and click on Device Import).

WARNING:  Do not leave pre-existing MAC address in your spreadsheet and import them a 2nd time.  This would create a duplicate listing of the same MAC.  Eliminate any pre-existing MAC information if you have downloaded your existing hardware to use as a template guide.
